'The Outsider' has a number of elements to its narrative; in the shade and the light, the disheveled, ugly distorted character and the dictatorial 'general' with a young female form carrying a child. The general has his opinion of the ugly one - pompous and self opinionated, as the 'audience' hides her face, knowing her own plight but scared to express her liberalism for fear that the general will turn on her next. It deals with our fears to express our sense of justice and what is right, in the face of bigotry and ridicule.
