"The title 'Jack's shirt' - is a play on words referring to a popular type of garment worn in the tropics,
known as a shirt-jack. 
This is a large portrait, representing a middle aged West Indian man, with a conservative lifestyle, unable to repress the Carnival desires of his environment.  As the music flows into and through him, he cannot resist an evolution to the masquerade.
